Paid Member Subscriptions Integration
AffiliatePress integrates with Paid Member Subscriptions to automatically track affiliate commissions whenever a customer purchases a subscription plan through your website.
Whether you offer one-time subscriptions, recurring membership plans, or premium content, AffiliatePress attributes completed subscription purchases to the affiliate who referred the customer. This lets you run an affiliate program alongside your membership site without manually tracking commissions.
Here we’ll show you how to integrate Paid Member Subscriptions plugin with AffiliatePress.
Before You Begin
Before setting up the integration, make sure you have the following installed and activated:
- WordPress with administrator access
- Paid Member Subscriptions
- AffiliatePress
Set Up Paid Member Subscriptions Integration
To turn on the Paid Member Subscriptions integration:
- Head over to AffiliatePress → Settings → Integrations.
- Scroll down until you find the Paid Member Subscriptions integration.
- Toggle on the integration and save your changes.
After turning on the integration, you can configure the following commission settings.
Exclude Taxes
By default, taxes are included in the total amount used to calculate affiliate commissions.
If you don’t want affiliates earning commissions on the tax amount, turn on Exclude Taxes. AffiliatePress then calculates commissions using only the subscription price.
For example, if a subscription purchase contains:
- Subscription Price: $100
- Tax: $12
The commission is calculated using $100 instead of $112.
Reject Commission on Refunded, Failed, or Deleted Payments
Subscription payments don’t always complete successfully. A payment may be refunded after purchase, fail during checkout, or be deleted from the system.
Turning on this setting automatically rejects any unpaid commission associated with those payments. This ensures commissions are generated only for completed subscription purchases.
Note: This option only affects commissions that have not yet been paid.
Allowed Products
You can also add the specific membership plan which you want to give commissions for.
Suppose you only want to give commissions for high-tier membership plans only. Then simply start typing the name of the service and select it.
Just remember that this setting works only when the commission type is set to ‘Per-Product Value’. It does not apply to the ‘Per-Order’ commission type.
This feature needs the Product Selection Add-on. Learn more in the Product Selection Add-on section below.
Disable Commissions for Individual Subscription Plans
By default, AffiliatePress generates commissions for every subscription plan created in Paid Member Subscriptions.
If you have a subscription plan that shouldn’t generate affiliate commissions – such as a free plan, internal membership, or promotional subscription – you can disable commissions for that plan without affecting your other subscription plans.
To do this:
- Head over to Paid Member Subscriptions → Subscription Plans.
- Open the subscription plan you want to edit.
- Scroll down to the AffiliatePress Commission Settings section.
- Turn on the Disable Commissions option.
- Click Save Subscription.
Note: This option does not work when Commission Basis is set to Commission Per Order.
Coupon Code Add-on Support
AffiliatePress allows you to track affiliate commissions when customers purchase subscription plans using affiliate discount codes.
To use this feature, you must install and activate the AffiliatePress Coupon Code Add-on. Once activated, you can assign Paid Member Subscriptions discount codes to specific affiliates..
When a customer purchases a subscription using an assigned discount code:
- The discount is applied during checkout.
- The subscription purchase is attributed to the assigned affiliate.
- AffiliatePress creates the commission automatically.
Before using this feature, make sure you have:
- The AffiliatePress Coupon Code add-on installed.
- At least one discount code created in Paid Member Subscriptions.

Product-wise Commission Add-on Support
The Product-wise Commission Rate add-on lets you assign different commission rates to individual subscription plans. You can also exclude taxes from commission calculations, decide how refunded or failed payments should be handled, disable commissions for specific subscription plans, and assign custom commission rates.
For example:

Subscription-specific commission rates always override:
- Default commission
- Group commission
- Affiliate-specific commission
Subscription plans without a custom commission rate continue using the default commission settings.

Product Selection Add-on
AffiliatePress allows you to control which membership plans will be eligible for affiliate commissions.
To use this feature, you must install and activate the AffiliatePress Product Selection Addon. Once activated, you can select a specific membership plan that should generate affiliate commissions.
After installing the add-on:
- Go to the Paid Membership Subscription integration settings.
- Choose the products under Allowed Products.
- Save your settings.
Note: Products selected through this add-on override the Disable Commissions product setting and will still generate commissions.

How Paid Member Subscriptions Commission Tracking Works
After turning on the Paid Member Subscriptions integration:
- A visitor clicks an affiliate link.
- The visitor purchases a subscription plan.
- Paid Member Subscriptions processes the purchase.
- AffiliatePress attributes the purchase to the referring affiliate.
- A commission is created based on your commission settings.
- If the payment is refunded, fails, or is deleted, the commission may be automatically rejected depending on your settings.
