Protect Your Margins from Affiliate Fraud
Affiliate fraud can significantly erode your profits. The AffiliatePress Fraud Protection Addon helps you secure your affiliate program by automatically detecting and flagging suspicious activity. With configurable settings, you can add multiple layers of defense and ensure your commissions go to genuine promoters.
Addon Activation
To start using the Fraud Protection Addon:
- Ensure that the AffiliatePress Pro plugin is active.
- Navigate to
AffiliatePress > Addons. - Activate the Fraud Protection Addon from the list.
Conversion Rate Monitoring
The Conversion Rate Monitoring feature evaluates the ratio of referrals to visits for each affiliate, helping identify unusually high conversion rates that may indicate fraudulent behaviour. This check activates only after an affiliate has generated at least 10 referrals.
You can configure this feature with the following modes:
- Allow Unlimited Conversions: Affiliates can earn commissions regardless of their conversion rate.
- Commissions flagged if conversion rate exceeds limits: If an affiliate’s conversion rate exceeds the defined threshold, their referrals will be flagged as potentially fraudulent.
- Flagged referrals remain eligible for payout, but it’s recommended to review them manually.
If you choose “Commissions Flagged”, additional fields will appear for setting the maximum allowable conversion rate.
IP Restrictions
Restrict affiliate signups from known or suspicious IP addresses. With IP Restrictions, you can block registrations from specific IPs by adding them to the Restricted IPs list.
Visitors from these IP addresses will be prevented from submitting the affiliate registration form.
