Commission Settings

The Commission Settings allows you to control how AffiliatePress calculates commissions, approves referrals, manages payouts and decides how affiliates receive rewards.

Head over to the AffiliatePress → Settings → Commissions to manage commission settings. 

Commission Rate

Set the default commission rate for affiliates as either a percentage or a fixed amount. 

• If you select the “%” sign, the rate will be considered as a percentage. 
• If you select a currency symbol from the dropdown, the rate will be considered as a fixed amount.

Commission Basis

Decide whether commissions are calculated based on individual products or the complete order.

Available options:

• Commission Per Product Sold: Calculates commission separately for each product bought by customer 
• Commission Per Order: Calculates a single commission amount based on the complete order; can include more than one product 

Allow Affiliates to Earn Commissions for Their Own Orders

This setting allows affiliates to earn commissions when they purchase products using their own affiliate links. By default, affiliates do not receive commissions for their own purchases to avoid misuse of the affiliate system.

Only enable it if you want an affiliate to earn commissions for self-referrals. 

Allow Zero Amount Commission

This setting allows AffiliatePress to record commissions with a zero value. This can be useful when you want to track referrals or conversions even when no monetary commission is assigned.

Refund Grace Period

The Refund Grace Period lets you set how long the AffiliatePress system waits before considering a commission eligible for payout.

Let’s say the refund grace period is set to 7 days. Then commissions from sales made within the last 7 days will not be eligible for payout until this period expires.

Payment Minimum Number of Orders

You can set here the minimum number of completed commission records needed before an affiliate becomes eligible for payout.

For example, if you set it to 5, an affiliate must have at least five eligible commission records before requesting payment. Remember affiliates will only receive payments once this threshold is reached.

Payment Minimum Amount

You can set here the minimum commission balance an affiliate must reach before receiving a payout.

For example, If set to $50, affiliates must make at least $50 in commissions before they can request payment. Remember affiliates will only receive payments once this threshold is reached.

Note: Both “Payment Minimum Number of orders” and “Payment Minimum Amount ($)” must be fulfilled before a payout can be generated. 

Commission Billing Cycle For Automatic-Payout

This setting controls how often automatic payouts are generated. You can configure the billing cycle as: 

• Monthly
• Weekly
• Yearly

You also have an option to disable it. 

Day of Billing Cycle For Automatic-Payout

This option lets you decide the day of the automatic payout. You can set any day of the week, be it monday or tuesday, so when the day comes, the system auto-pays all affiliates through the payment gateways (PayPal or Stripe ) you configured. 

Default Commission Status

The Default Commission Status is the initial status assigned to new commissions.

Depending on your configuration, commissions can be:

• Automatically approved based on order status.
• Added as pending until manually reviewed.

Credit Last Referrer

You can award commission to the affiliate whose link was clicked most recently before a purchase. For instance:

• Customer clicks Affiliate A’s link.
• Later clicks Affiliate B’s link.
• Customer completes purchase.

With this option enabled, Affiliate B receives the commission.

Hide Pending and Rejected Commissions from Affiliate User

This option can be enabled to hide pending and rejected commissions from the affiliate dashboard.

Commission Only On First Order Per Customer

AffiliatePress lets you reward affiliates only for the customer’s first purchase. If you want to pay acquisition commissions rather than commissions on every future purchase, enabling it is the best choice. 

Addon-Based Commission Settings

The following settings are available only after activating their respective AffiliatePress addons. 

Affiliate Signup Bonus

AffiliatePress allows you to reward affiliates with a bonus amount when they successfully register as an affiliate. To use this feature, you just have to install and activate the AffiliatePress Signup Bonus Addon. After activation, you can set a fixed signup bonus amount that is automatically awarded to affiliates during registration.

Recurring Commissions Settings

Using AffiliatePress, you can allow your affiliates to earn commissions from recurring subscription payments. To use this feature, you must install and activate the AffiliatePress Recurring Commissions Addon. Later, you can simply set recurring commission rates alongside how many subscription renewals should generate affiliate commissions.

Lifetime Commissions Settings

Want your affiliates to continue earning commissions from future purchases made by customers they originally referred? AffiliatePress allows affiliates to earn commissions from all future purchases made by customers they originally referred to. 

To use this feature, you must install and activate the AffiliatePress Lifetime Commissions Addon. Once activated, you can set lifetime commission access, commission rates, commission limits, and customer visibility options to reward affiliates for long term customer relationships.

Performance Bonuses Settings

AffiliatePress lets you reward your affiliates automatically when they achieve specific performance targets. 

To use this feature, you must install and activate the AffiliatePress Performance Bonuses Addon. Once activated, you can configure bonus types, performance targets, recurrence rules, and bonus amounts to motivate affiliates and encourage higher sales performance.

Tiered Affiliate Rates

AffiliatePress allows you to create performance-based commission tiers so affiliates can earn higher commission rates as they achieve predefined sales or referral thresholds. 

To use this feature, you must install and activate the AffiliatePress Tiered Affiliate Rates Addon. This lets you set commission types, threshold levels, commission rates, and optional monthly tier resets to automatically reward top earning affiliates.
